These matched sets include a plummer block housing and an GR type cartridge, intended to accommodate a locating (GR type) SKF Cooper split cylindrical roller bearing. The cartridge provides a swivel seating between the bearing and the housing to allow for static misalignment of the shaft while still maintaining reliable sealing. Typically, the sets have reduced clearance (S1) in the swivel seating to decrease vibration in applications where loads rapidly change direction. GR type cartridges use axial screws to clamp the bearing outer ring.
