Flex (tyre) couplings are designed to accommodate misalignment and shock loads and dampen vibration levels. The flex coupling spacer is used to join two shaft ends that cannot be positioned close enough to just use a coupling alone. The spacer also allows removal of a shaft without the need to move either the driving or driven machine.
