Square flanged housings accommodate cartridges (inner housings) for SKF Cooper split cylindrical roller bearings. A swivel seating between the flanged housing and the cartridge accommodates static misalignment between the shaft and flange mounting surfaces. Square flanges provide a more compact housing solution than round flanges, and can sometimes interchange with housings for non-split bearings. Square flanges are made from ductile iron as standard. They can be used for both locating and non-locating bearings.
